What does Metal of the Moon signify?
"Metal of the Moon" is the whimsical and imaginitive way the Navajo or Dineh people described silver when they were introduced to the metal by the Spanish. There are those who believe the Navajo had always known about silver but being nomdic never learned silver smithing until after they were forced to settle by the US Government.
For an interesting introduction to the history of Native American silver smithing see our squidoo lens at www.squidoo.com/metalofthemoon.
Oh, and it's also the name of our eBay store too.
